New Swimmers To Trent Bray Swim School

  • Babies and Toddlers 6 Months to 3 Years Old

Our Baby and 1-3 Year Old Toddler classes run for half hour sessions weekdays between 9-12pm and Sundays between 8-11:30am.

We offer free trials for these sessions, so get in touch and we can book in a trial.

The classes are 30 minutes long and a parent or guardian need to be in the water with the child. The class focuses on getting your little one comfortable in the water and learning the cues that we use and on teaching the basic skill elements such as submersion, breath control, floating, propulsion and safety skills.

All the activities that we do have a water safety element to them that we build upon as they advance.

  • Preschool Swimmers 3-5 Years Old

All new swimmers aged 3 to 5 years will need to come in for an in-person assessment before we can book them into a class. This helps us ensure they are tall enough for the pool, gives us a chance to see their abilities, and allows us to place them in the most suitable level.

It's also a great opportunity to introduce your child to the swim school environment so they know what to expect before their first lesson.

    Assessment Times:

We offer assessments during the school term:

    Weekdays: Monday to Friday, 3:30pm – 6:00pm

    Weekends: Saturday & Sunday, 8:30am – 12:30pm

No appointment is necessary — simply drop in during the times above and check in with our reception team. Once we've completed the assessment, we’ll discuss available class times and get your swimmer started!

Please note: Before we can book your swimmer into a class, you’ll need to create an account in our Customer Portal.

For swimmers aged 5 years and older, we’re happy to assess their level via email or phone before booking them into a class.

If you already have an idea of your child’s swimming ability, simply send us a brief summary by email. We’ll use that to recommend the most suitable class. You can also visit our "Classes" page to read through the level descriptions yourself.

Prefer to chat? Give us a call, and we’ll walk through a quick level assessment over the phone.

Your swimmer’s first lesson also acts as a confirmation to make sure they’ve been placed in the correct level.
